Barrett Hunnicutt
M. Barrett Hunnicutt is the Marketing Coordinator for the Arkansas Queer Men’s Social Club, where he connects with members, manages social media, and helps bring people together across the state. Outside of his work with the social club, Barrett is the Executive Director of Arkansas Clean Cities (ACC). This nonprofit brings together government agencies, businesses, and organizations to improve energy security, promote energy independence, and protect
the environment in Arkansas. ACC has been serving the state since 1995.
Before this, Barrett worked as a Communications Specialist for Louisiana Clean Fuels, where he shared the organization’s mission through social media, newsletters, and by building strong connections with the community. He has also served as Environmental Program Coordinator at the Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment and as a Legal Support Specialist for the Arkansas Department of Human Services, giving him years of experience in public service and a deep understanding of public administration.
Barrett holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a Master’s in Education Leadership, and a Graduate Certificate in Hidden Student Populations from Oklahoma State University, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Student Affairs in Higher Education at Kansas State University. He also earned a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies from Kansas State University, along with an Undergraduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution.
Through all his work, Barrett is committed to building strong, inclusive communities, whether that’s advancing sustainable transportation, supporting public programs, or helping people feel connected and valued in Arkansas’s queer community.
